Goal
A consultation was held to discuss the website design needs and capabilities of NanD's Cakes and Bakes.
Goal: Create a website
Objective: Advertise client's services

Media: Simple Website
Business Type: Bakery
Location: New London, CT
Budget: $300
User Persona
NanD's Cakes & Bakes appeals to audiences that love sweets. The client also requested to use their business card's color scheme to complete the website.

After exploring different ideas while following the guidelines of the business card, a child-friendly and analyzing the client's business card, a design system was created. NanD's Cakes & Bakes should appeal to audiences that love sweets.

Strategy & Wireframe
Nandia expressed that her bakery is already busy and can't support an online business model so the main strategy is to give notice to interested customers. A proper mobile application along with a simple static website will be sufficient.

Next, we want the customers to understand the Client's business. The client gets a request from a customer, when the request is made the order is processed and then the customer picks it up. So the website will have a gallery integrated to introduce the client's services. If the customer has a request outside the menu, they can request it in the contact section.

May, 2024
Upon designing the first mockup, we realized using multiple colors would take away professionalism from the website and give a less robust look. So we took a step back and focus on simplicity using a neutral color background for better readability, primary colors for attention specific purposes such as call to actions, and accents for visual interests such as hyperlinks or animations.

Color

The client requested us to design the website through the business card presented. So we brainstormed an Idea to have the theme of the website be appealing to kids so the color them was colorful.

First Prototype Mockup
However, after review, the client didn't express interest in the extra colors and requested to stick with the original idea. Following this, the high fidelity wireframe for the website was produced.
High Fidelity Wireframe
In our final wireframe, we decided to use the WCAG calculator: https://accessibleweb.com/color-contrast-checker/ to confirm usability. The Color Scheme was directly taken from the business card.
